J-K: Cops defuse IED in Rajouri

IED was fit by militants to security forces convoy passing from there.

THE Jammu Kashmir Police defused an improvised explosive device (IED) on the outskirts of Rajouri town averting a major tragedy Monday morning.

Sources said militants had put the IED in a mobile phone and the antenna was planted on the roadside near village Dalogra on the Rajouri-Poonch road to target security forces convoy passing from there. However,an Army’s road opening party noticed it in the morning and immediately informed the local police.

The vehicular traffic on the road was immediately stopped and a bomb disposal squad called,who defused the IED after three hours.
