J-K CM reviews Jagti township of Kashmiri migrants

The chief minister also gave directions for timely completion of roads and other basic amenities in the township.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inspected the construction of migrant township at Jagti in Nagrota,about 15 kms from here.

He inspected different blocks,interacted with engineers and officials and gave them instructions to expedite the work.

The township envisages construction of 4,218 two-room flats for Kashmiri migrants and a 40-bed hospital,a higher secondary,a middle school and two community halls.

Under the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan (PMRP),the project for constructing 5,242 two-room tenements at a cost of Rs 345 crore was taken up and the cost was revised to Rs 385 crore subsequently.

In the first phase of the project,as many as 1,024 flats have already been constructed at Purkhoo,Muthi and Nagrota and allotted to beneficiaries.

The remaining 4,218 two-room tenement complex at Jagti was launched in the second phase and is likely to be completed by March-end.
