Five drug peddlers arrested in J-K

Five alleged drug peddlers were arrested in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and over five kilograms of cannabis worth Rs five lakh was recovered from their possession.

Five alleged drug peddlers were today arrested in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and over five kilograms of cannabis worth Rs five lakh was recovered from their possession.

“Police laid a naka near main bus stand in Baramulla town and detained three persons moving around in suspicious circumstances after they tried to escape from the spot,” a police spokesman said.

He said during a body frisk of the three persons,five kilograms of cannabis,with a value of nearly Rs five lakh,was recovered from their possession.

They were identified as Abdul Rashid Najar,Nisar Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Magray.

A case under relevant sections of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused.
