While rain brought relief from humid weather in parts of Delhi early on Saturday, Mumbai continued to experience intense rainfall, prompting an Orange Alert from the IMD for heavy to very heavy rainfall throughout the day.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), a generally cloudy sky with light rain is expected all day, contributing to a decrease in the Air Quality Index (AQI), which was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category at 8 am.

Visuals from the Barapullah flyover in Delhi showed vehicles navigating slowly through waterlogged roads, while Janpath witnessed a gentle drizzle.

The IMD forecasted cloudy skies and light thunderstorms in Delhi and Noida for Saturday and Sunday, with light rain likely to continue until July 17.

In Mumbai, heavy downpours led to waterlogging and traffic disruptions across several areas, with the Andheri station temporarily closed due to flooding. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 29°C and 24°C respectively. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel.

Meanwhile, moderate rain persisted in parts of Himachal Pradesh, causing the closure of 15 roads and disrupting 47 transformers, particularly in Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra districts.

Kerala experienced heavy rains as well, prompting an orange alert in Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts, and a yellow alert in nine other districts. The IMD forecasted widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the next five days due to cyclonic circulations over north Gujarat and west central Bay of Bengal.
