After recovery of bombs on the railway tracks near Dinanagar, the Ferozepur Railway Division is seeking a dedicated company of Railway Protection Force (RPF) for patrolling and security on railway tracks along the border with Pakistan.
The 350-km long railway track along the border has as many as five sections connecting different stations with Amritsar and Jammu.
“I am writing to the Railway headquarters to seek a dedicated company of 100 RPF personnel for patrolling, surveillance and security on the entire stretch of railway tracks along the border. During a meeting with senior Punjab police officers, it has emerged that there is a threat perception on the international border and terrorists are more likely to strike along international border than the Line of Control,” Ferozepur Divisional Railway Manager Anuj Prakash said Wednesday.
