‘Dil se bura lagta hai’ fame YouTuber Devraj Patel killed in bike accident

Providing details of the incident, Raipur district’s senior superintendent, Prashant Agrawal, said, “Devraj was riding on a bike with his friend Rakesh Manhar driving. The bike’s handle collided with a truck that was moving in the same direction towards Raipur. As a result, the bike driver lost control, and both of them fell off the bike. Unfortunately, Devraj ended up under the rear wheel of the truck.”

Patel, originally from Mahasamund, was residing in the Avanti Vihar area of Raipur city. The police inspector of Telibandha police station, Umendra Tondon, confirmed the arrest of the truck driver, Rahul Mandal, aged 25, on charges of causing death due to negligence. “He was not driving in an inebriated condition,” he said.

Since August 2020, Patel had created 108 videos, amassing a remarkable 888 million views and garnering 440,000 subscribers. He also appeared alongside Bhuvan Bam in the web series “Dhindora.”

In 2021, Patel had the opportunity to shoot a video with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Expressing his condolences on Twitter, Baghel shared a video featuring Patel hanging out with him and other MLAs. The Chief Minister said, “Devraj Patel, who won the hearts of millions with his video ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai,’ who made us all laugh, has left us today. The loss of such incredible talent at such a young age is deeply saddening. May God give strength to his family and loved ones to cope with this loss. Om Shanti.”
