PM Modi turns 73: From INDIA leaders to ministers, wishes pour in

Wishes are pouring in from leaders in the country and across the world, for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 73 on Sunday.

With Vishwakarma Jayanti falling on the same day as his birthday, PM Modi is set to launch the ‘PM Vishwakarma’, a scheme worth Rs 13,000 crore aimed at helping artisans and craftsmen and others engaged in traditional skills.

He is scheduled to inaugurate the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), named Yashobhoomi, in Dwarka and also the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25 as well on Sunday.

Extending wishes for his birthday, President Droupadi Murmu wished that Modi with his foresight and strong leadership paves the way for India’s development in every field during the ‘Amrit Kaal’. “I pray to God that you always remain healthy and happy and continue to benefit the countrymen with your excellent leadership,” she said in a tweet in Hindi.

Lauding him as the “architect of new India”, Home Minister Amit Shah said he has laid a strong foundation for a grand and self-reliant India on the basis of the country’s ancient heritage. “Be it the party organisation or the government, we always get inspiration of national interest being supreme from Modi ji,” he said, adding that he considered it his good fortune to serve the country under such a unique leader.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extended his wishes to the PM on his birthday.

National President of Congress party Mallikarjun Kharge also took to X and wished the PM on the occasion.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor shared his “renewed” birthday wishes to PM Modi by reiterating his 2021 wish on the same occassion. His 2021 tweet read: “May he be able to work more successfully in the next two, to ensure that Vikas actually dawns in our country& is truly “sab ka”& “sab ka saath”! May he create work for the Indian people too.”

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wished the PM in a post on X: “Birthday greetings to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji. I pray for your good health and long life.”

On the occasion, National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar wished for PM Modi’s “good health, happiness and prosperity.”

Through a post on X, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also sent his greetings to the PM.

Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy also wished PM Modi on his birthday.
