As part of its commitment to support the government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, Patanjali Foods has undertaken a palm plantation programme to achieve self-sufficiency in edible oils.

Addressing a press conference at its Palm Plantation Farm and Nursery in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, Yoga guru Ramdev said that Patanjali is aiming to connect with 5-lakh palm farmers across the country. Ramdev said the company has already planted 1 crore palm saplings. Currently, around 40,000 farmers have been associated with Patanjali in its ‘Mission Palm Plantation’, he said.

Patanjali said it has entered into MoUs with 12 state governments under PPP model.

The company currently has 26 nurseries all over India and plans to scale it up to 197 nurseries in the next 5 years.
