Patanjali Consortium Adhigrahan Pvt. — a venture by Patanjali Ayurved and three other companies controlled by yoga guru Baba Ramdev — is taking over Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd. for 43.5 billion rupees ($614 million).
Acharya Balkrishna, the company’s Chairman, had told The Indian Express recently that the unit will become operational around Diwali and would buy the first orange crop this season from farmers in Vidarbha.
The incident has triggered a public outrage in the northeastern state, following which three FIRs were registered against the yoga trainer. The Congress has also sought an apology from Baba Ramdev over the issue.
Nagpur, Feb 24 (ANI): Divulging details about the 653 acres of land allotted by the Maharashtra Government to Patanjali trust, Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna said the company will help the farmers get right value for their harvest.
