The incident has triggered a public outrage in the northeastern state, following which three FIRs were registered against the yoga trainer. The Congress has also sought an apology from Baba Ramdev over the issue.

"The unidentified accused has created a fake Facebook profile of Balkrishna and was chatting with his followers in an indecent and vulgar manner which was damaging his reputation," Pramod Joshi, the chief executive officer of the Vedic Broadcasting Ltd wrote in his complaint to the police.
