Police sources said the non-local, who was working as a cab driver, was immediately rushed to a hospital in Shopian from where he was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.A non-local taxi driver was injured when suspected militants shot at him in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Monday evening. This is the second attack on non-locals in the Valley and has come two months after two carpenters from Punjab were shot dead in Srinagar.
Police sources said that on Monday evening, suspected militants fired at a non-local at Heerpora village of Shopian. They said he was hit in his arm.
Police sources said the non-local, who was working as a cab driver, was immediately rushed to a hospital in Shopian from where he was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
“Taxi driver was fired upon by terrorists in Heerpora (Shopian) and got injured. Search operation is going on. Further details shall follow,” the Shopian police said in a post on X. Immediately after the attack, security forces launched a search operation.
