Maoists kill another BJP worker in Chhattisgarh

A 40-year-old BJP worker, Kailash Nag, who was also a contractor, was shot dead and his JCB machine was torched by Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district Wednesday evening.

This is the ninth BJP worker killed by Maoists since last year and the second murder this year in the state. Nag is the fourth BJP worker from Bijapur district murdered by Maoists. The incident occurred in Bhuripani, 35 km from Bijapur headquarters. At the time of the incident, the forest department was using the JCB machine to dig a pond in the forest. Between 4.30 pm and 5 pm, Maoists kidnapped Nag from the spot, shot him dead, and torched the JCB machine.
