A Delhi court today extended by 14 days the police custody of four alleged members of terror group Hizb-ul-Mujahideen,accused of activating the sleeper cells of the outfit and plotting blasts in the country. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav allowed the Special Cell of the Delhi police to quiz Ghulam Mohd Bhatt,Mohd Sidiq Ganai,Ghulam Jeelani and Farooq Ahmed Dagga in its custody till February 19. They were arrested from Srinagar on January 22. Accused are remanded to police custody till February 19, the CMM said. Seeking extension of their police custody,Additional Public Prosecutor Naveen Kumar submitted they were activating sleeper cells of the banned outfit to carry out blasts in the country. The investigating agency told the court that the accused were funding terror activities and over Rs 21 lakh cash was recovered from their possession. The prosecutor said various evidence and records have been recovered from them. The agency also submitted that the main handler of all the accused,Maqbool Pandit,was based in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and their call records show that one of the accused Mohd Sidiq Ganai was in constant touch with him. The court,however,declined the plea of the prosecutor for in-camera proceeding in the matter.
