Lathicharge on protesters agitating against demolition in Bhopal

Normalcy was restored and no one was injured in the police action.

Police today resorted to mild lathicharge and bursting of teargas shells to control those protesting against plans to demolish houses built illegally at a residential block on J K Road here.

Superintendent of Police,Yogesh Choudhary said that a team of police,corporation and administration officials had gone to Minal Residency to demolish the houses.

The protesters including a number of women objected to the proposed demolition following which an altercation took place. This prompted the police to resort to mild lathicharge and bursting of teargas shells after which the situation came under control.

Normalcy was restored and no one was injured in the police action.
