‘Congress should first apologise for its tirade against RSS’

VHP reacted to Congress protests over RSS leader K C Sudarshan's remarks against Sonia Gandhi.

Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Bhai Togadia on Saturday demanded the government enact a legislation for the construction of a temple of Lord Ram on the entire disputed land at Ayodhya.

“The Luckow bench of the Allahabad High Court has divided 90 x 115 ft of land into three parts. Thus only a 30 x 35 ft plot is earmarked for Ramlala on which construction of his temple is impossible,” Togadia,VHP International General Secretary, told a press conference here.

Claiming the judiciary had supported the VHP’s stand that the site was birth place of Lord Ram,he appealed to all political parties to extend their support for the enacting the proposal of temple construction.

“The VHP has launched a nation-wide Hanumat Jagaran Havan Yagya for this,” he said.

In reply to a question,Togadia said “we know that VHP is not a party in the Ayodhya Janambhoomi case, but wherever there is involvement of the interest of Hindus,be it Kashmiri Hindus, the Parishad has a crucial role to play.”

He said “It is not the VHP,but Ramlala wants his temple there and we are Ram Bhakt (devotees of Lord Ram) and will work for early construction of the temple.”

Reacting to Congress protests over RSS leader K C Sudarshan’s alleged derogatory remarks against the party president Sonia Gandhi, the VHP leader said the Congress should first apologise before the nation for its tirade against the RSS.
