2G scam: BJP hints Pawar should be questioned on Radia revelations

'No documentary evidence but Niira Radia probably knows a lot about Pawar.'

The BJP on Thursday avoided a direct comment on corporate lobbyist Niira Radia’s revelations to the CBI about Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar’s stake in DB Realty but hinted that authorities should seek clarifications from the NCP leader on the issue.

“Niira Radia was in the thick of things on (2G spectrum allocation). She has made comments on Sharad Pawar though she has not produced any documentary evidence. Probably she knows a lot about Pawar and he knows a lot about her. We would not say more,” BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said.

There are news reports that Radia told CBI that Pawar had a stake in DB Realty, whose Managing Director Shahid Usman Balwa is in jail in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
