Youth injured during Dahi Handi celebrations dies in Thane

A 21-year-old youth,who had been injured during the Dahi Handi celebrations on Thursday,died this morning after he complained of chest pain.

A 21-year-old youth,who had been injured during the Dahi Handi celebrations on Thursday,died this morning after he complained of chest pain.

Kishor Kamble,a resident of Gyaneshwar Nagar in neighbouring Thane district,was rushed to the Thane Healthcare Centre last night after he complained of chest pain,hospital officials said.

He,however,died this morning due to severe internal bleeding,they said.

Kamble,a member of the Om Sai Mitra Mandal,had participated in the Dahi Handi celebrations during Janamashtami on Thursday.

He had fallen several times while attempting to break the Handi,according to his friends.

Hospital officials say that Kamble must have injured himself internally.

He was a student and is survived by his parents and two brothers.
