Senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury has been nominated to Court of University,the highest decision making body of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Hamid Ansari,Vice-President and chairman of Rajya Sabha,nominated Yechury as a member of the Court of University for a term of three years from May 4,2009,a release said on Wednesday. The Registrar of the university in a communication to Yechury has stated that the institute looks forward to his help and guidance as a member of the Court of University,the statement said. Yechury was the president of JNU Students' Union immediately after the Emergency.
