VDC members repulse attack of militants in Doda

In a brave act,a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member on Thursday repulsed a militant attack on his house in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir,police said.

In a brave act,a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member on Thursday repulsed a militant attack on his house in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir,police said.

A group of militants attacked the house of Raj Kumar in village Daroti in Kalakote tehsil of Rajouri district.

When Kumar did not open the door,the ultras showered a hail of bullets which was retaliated by the VDC member. The intermittent exchange of fire continued for about an hour,they said,adding the militants later escaped.

In 2006 also,Kumar had survived a similar attack in his village which left five VDC members dead.
