Suicide case: Chaturvedi files review plea in HC

Chaturvedi informed the court that he had exposed a multi-crore plantation scam, in which the deceased was an accused.

IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi has filed an application before the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking review of its February 10 judgment wherein the Haryana DGP was directed to constitute a special investigating team to probe allegations by the father of deceased forest range officer Sanjeev Tomar, 35, that Chaturvedi had driven his son to commit suicide in Jhajjar in December 2009. The application will come up for hearing on Friday.

Chaturvedi, deputy secretary with AIIMS at New Delhi, has submitted that the Haryana government deliberately suppressed the fact from the High Court before issuance of the February 10 judgment that he had filed a petition in 2012 in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe in the case and his petition is pending for final decision for February 24.

Chaturvedi had earlier informed the court that the deceased had committed suicide after four months of his transfer from Jhajjar. He had informed that when the deceased was posted at Jhajjar, he (Chaturvedi) had exposed a multi-crore plantation scam, in which the deceased was an accused.
