Satte gang had ‘two modules’ of robbers: Police

“The gang was involved in the loot in Rajasthan’s Kota where they took away cash and jewellery worth about Rs 80 lakh. He was also involved in sensational robberies in Sahidabad,” Dhaliwal told reporters.

Four members of the gang,including its kingpin Satya Prakash alias Satte,were injured in the shootout with police which claimed to have foiled their plan to rob a bank in a posh south Delhi locality.

After his release from jail,Dhaliwal said Satya Prakash also allegedy shot at Akbar Kabari,who provided information to police which led to his arrest.

In jail,he came in to contact with Sherafat Sheikh,an alleged drug lord,and formed ‘two modules’ of the gang,Dhaliwal said.

“While Sheikh coordinated the modules from inside the jail,Prakash did it from outside,” he said,adding one of the module included Prakash,Dabbu,a bad character in Maujpur,and his brother Bittu.

Sonu alias Kuldeep,who was arrested after the encounter,allegedly provided ‘vital information’ to the gang,he said.

Sonu was seriously injured in the shooutout and his condition is stated to be critical.
