Rs 2 crore released by J-K CM for Haj House completion in Srinagar

Immediately after his unanimous election as Chairman of JKSHC,Omar Abdullah approved release of Rs two crore for early completion of a Haj House.

Immediately after his unanimous election as Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir State Haj Committee (JKSHC),Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today approved release of Rs two crore for early completion of a Haj House here.

“We are approving the release of Rs two crore for early completion of Haj House at Bemina,near here,so that it is fully utilised for providing adequate facilities to the Hajis,” Omar said chairing the first meeting of the committee here.

It is for the first time that he has been elected chairman of the committee.

The meeting discussed matters pertaining to the Haj arrangements and facilities to the Haj pilgrims for 2010.

Omar issued directions for holding of training camps for aspiring Haj pilgrims well before the month of Ramzan in all districts.

“Necessary literature and booklets containing guidelines on performing Haj besides other instructions should be distributed in these training camps,” he said.

He asked the Haj Committee to provide cell phones to the state Haj guides for better communication between guides,Haj officers and the pilgrims.
