The special court hearing the Mumbai terror attack case would resume tomorrow the recording of statement of lone surviving Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab on evidence adduced by prosecution against him.

The court, which is recording Kasab’s final statement under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC),was closed for Christmas holidays for the last few days.

Kasab had disputed the prosecution’s case that he along with nine other terrorists had come to Mumbai from Pakistan via sea on November 26,2008 and attacked various locations like the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus,Hotels Taj and Trident,Nariman House and Cafe Leopold.

The gunman also denied having confessed to his crime before a magistrate and claimed that the police had tortured him into giving the statement.

“I had come to Mumbai in Samjhauta Express 20 days before November 26. I was arrested on November 25 night from Juhu Chowpatty and falsely implicated in the case,” Kasab had told special Judge M L Tahaliyani.

Kasab also denied being a member of terror outfit Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT) and claimed he never met Hafeez Sayed,Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Zarar Shah, all absconding accused and top LeT operatives.

After Kasab, the court would record the statements of two other arrested accused Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, who have been charged with preparing maps of the locations and submitting them to the main conspirators.
