Veer Savarkar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to freedom activist Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary. Born in 1883, Savarkar is credited for coining the term Hindutva. He was said to have openly endorsed the idea of Hindu Rashtra and opposed the Quit India moment.
