One Rank One Pension: Retired chiefs seek President’s intervention

With the agitation demanding implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme nearing two months, four former services chiefs have written to President Pranab Mukherjee seeking his urgent intervention.

In their letter, General S F Rodrigues, Admiral L Ramdas, Admiral Arun Prakash and Admiral Sureesh Mehta have subtly warned the government of likely actions by the ex-servicemen community “that would be entirely inappropriate and damaging to the Indian military ethos”.
