Nagpur sets new record at 47.9 degrees

Wednesday was the hottest day in the history of Nagpur,with the mercury touching 47.9 degrees. Tuesday had equalled the previous record of 47.8 set in May 1954.

Wednesday was the hottest day in the history of Nagpur,with the mercury touching 47.9 degrees. Tuesday had equalled the previous record of 47.8 set in May 1954. Wednesday was also the fifth consecutive day in the city when the temperature remained at or above 47 degrees.

Chandrapur continued to sizzle at 48.2,while Amravati recorded 48. There was no respite for Wardha (47),Gondia (46.1) and Yavatmal and Akola (45.2) as well. Washim was a bit relieved as mercury slid to 43.5.
