Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday distributed Rs 2.25 crore among 730 persons for construction of houses under Indra Awas Yojana in Uri sector of north Kashmir.
Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-din distributed cheques to the beneficiaries in Boniyar and Uri blocks at a function at Uri,100 kms from here.
The minister said the Congress-NC government has initiated many development and welfare schemes in the state.
He said Rs 3.33 crore will be spend for construction of 1,140 houses under IAY scheme,while Rs 85 lakh have been spent on 205 rural works under NAREGA for creating 56,000 man days in the area.
