The health care services continued to remained affected across Jammu and Kashmir with no breakthrough in the ongoing talks between striking doctors and a high level committee constituted by the state government. The high-level committee of the government headed by Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather held second round of talks with the agitating doctors in Srinagar on Thursday but no breakthrough was achieved,officials said here on Friday. The committee members advised the representatives of doctors that they should call off their strike in view of the sufferings of the patients. The agitating medicos,however,demanded that the government should come out with a blue print to concede their demands,they said. Junior doctors in Jammu have been on strike since October 5 while their counterparts in the Valley went on strike from October 9 in support of their demands,including removal of pay anomalies and issue of regularisation. The strike has been called by Doctors Joint Action Committee (DJAC). Work has been badly affected in Government Medical College and several hospitals in Jammu district,officials said,adding,however,emergency services were being run by senior doctors in the district. Health department officials said that government may invite the agitating doctors representatives for the dialogue today to end the strike.
