The order comes days after BJP leader Subramanian Swamy wrote two letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing Katoch of not showing interest in pursuing a money laundering probe in the National Herald case.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday approved assigning additional charge of the post of Enforcement Director to Karnal Singh “for a period of three months from the date of assuming charge or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest”.
