Governor K Sankaranarayanan said on Monday: Scheduled castes,scheduled tribes,backward classes,minorities and people living in remote parts are among those who havent yet benefitted from the economic growth propelled by globalisation. We need inclusive growth that will touch the life of every citizen.
Inaugurating Conference on opportunities in Vidarbha at a Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DICCI) three-day expo that began here on Sunday,he said,This conference has great significance since it is a step towards economic empowerment of Dalits not by others but by Dalits themselves.
Lauding the DICCI motto Be job givers,not job seekers,the Governor said,This line should become the motto of emerging India.
Sankaranarayanan said there was an urgent need for skilled workers and that the state government should set up a special university for vocational training.
