Kerala unit of the DYFI, the youth outfit of the CPI(M), has launched a matrimonial website to promote inter-faith marriages. But hours after the website http://www.secularmarriage.com was floated, it was hacked.

The website was inaugurated by celluloid couple Ashiq Abu and Reema Kallingal in Kochi. At the inaugural venue, six local level DYFI leaders in Ernakulam district registered their names for inter-faith marriages.

DYFI sources said the website is a major step towards achieving the organization’s motto religion-less Kerala. Prospective bride and bridegrooms or their parents can register with the website at free of cost. They would be given user ID and password for further communication and identifying potential pairs. The online registration page would not have the usual columns for marking religion and caste.
