The Congress on Monday slammed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for not appealing against BJP president Amit Shah’s discharge in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh-Tulsi Prajapati killings by a Mumbai special court, and termed it as a “travesty of justice”. Fake encounter cases: Deadline ends today, CBI may not file plea against Shah’s discharge “We are surprised why the CBI didn’t file an appeal in the Amit Shah case. CBI decision to not appeal against Shah’s acquittal is a travesty of justice. The government and CBI owe an explanation to the people,” Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad said. “Why has CBI developed a soft corner for Amit Shah? Is CBI under pressure not to act against the BJP chief and de facto number two in the government?” Ahmad added.
