The Centre has approved Rs 300 crore under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme for expansion of infrastructural facilities at S K Institute of Medical Sciences here.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who visited SKIMS yesterday said the main purpose to establish the Institute was to provide proper medical facilities which were not available in the Valley.
All the units of the institute should be equipped with emergency facilities to make it on par with other prestigious institutes of the country,he said.
Tendering process for construction of new block,150 bed units and emergency and accidental units in the Institute has been already been set in motion,officials said.
