BoM offers scholarships

To recognise and encourage meritorious students,Bank of Maharashtra has instituted a scholarship called “MBM Scholarship”. The scheme is also aimed at inculcating the habit of saving in young students.

A release by the bank said students who have passed the Class 10 exam organised by CBSE,ICSE or the state board that year would be eligible for the scholarship. Two students would be chosen from each of the 246 districts in the country in which the bank operates — one from the state board,the other from a central board like CBSE or ICSE. Chosen scholars would receive Rs 500 every month — credited to their savings bank accounts — for a year,the release said.

Application forms are available on the bank’s website,www.bankofmaharashtra.in,and can be submitted online or in hard copy — after attestation by the principal — to any branch of the bank. Online applications are open till July 17; BoM branches will accept prints until July 18,the release said.
