BJP to form ‘third front’ in Bengal

Pushed to a corner after its former ally Trinamool Congress joined hands with the Congress,the BJP on Friday said that it would form a third front before the 2011 assembly election in West Bengal.

“We are trying to open a third front in the state before the next assembly election in 2011. Some constituents of the front led by Trinamool Congress are in touch with us,” state BJP president Rahul Sinha told reporters here today.

The Trinamool Congress had deserted the BJP and gone with the Congress “to get Muslim votes”,he said.

Sinha said that his party was against both the central and state governments and would make all political efforts to dislodge the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee government.
