Cong seeks CM clarification on land deal
Shimla:The Congress on Monday asked Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to clarify as to who is ‘Jaswant Singh – the names mentioned on the revenue papers relating to 115 bigha land purchase deal at Kasauli during the BJP regime. Congress spokesperson Naresh Chauhan alleged that CMs family members were involved in the land deal. He alleged that within two months,18 registries were done and this is not possible without official assistance. Jaswant Singh named in registry paper happens to be a driver of Chief Ministers son. He said the Congress will recommend a CBI enquiry into the case on its return to power.
ECI appoints nodal officer
Shimla:The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday released the list of the nodal officers who will be monitoring the election expenditure in the state for assembly election. Cops seize Rs 10 lakh at Kangra
Shimla:The Kangra police on Monday seized Rs 10 lakh from Delhi resident,Ram Sukh Jakhla,who was travelling to Yol in Kangra district. District SSP Diljit Singh Thakur said the police have started checking suspicious visitors on EC directions. No person is allowed to carry cash above Rs two lakh. So far,the Kangra police have seized Rs Rs 32.50 lakh during the special checking drive.
