Days after SAD supporters from two groups owing allegiance to MLAs Jathedar Tota Singh and Rajwinder Kaur clashed at Rania and Sadoke villages in the run-up to the July 3 panchayat polls, the rivalry intensified on Sunday with Kaur organising a show of strength at Lopo village. The move came after a similar show of strength was organised by Dharamkot MLA Tota Singh at Takhtupura village, where he had warned people to stay away from elements who are breaking SADs unity. On Sunday,Rajwinder Kaur declared that Nihal Singh Wala from where she is the MLA was nobodys personal property. People should think twice before saying anything in my constituency and that too in front of the people who are my supporters, she said. Faridkot MP Paramjeet Kaur Gulshan also attended Kaurs show of strength. When contacted,Kaur said: We are not going to tolerate anybodys interference in my constituency. People have given me the chance to serve them and I dont want outsiders to poke their nose in the matters of my area. Reacting to Tota Singhs last weeks statement that he can help villages in Nihal Singh Wala to get maximum grants,Kaur said: I am not going to leave any stone unturned for getting grants for the development of villages. Thus, others should not bother about it. As per rules,MLA is the only leader and representative of the people from the area. Still, people have a habit of interfering in others areas. Tota Singh enjoys support of the people of Nihal Singh Wala as he belongs to Didare Wala village from the sub division. According to sources,Singh will discuss the issue with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in the coming days.
