Accused chatted in code with Bhatkal,Kagzi: ATS

Firoz alias Hamza Abdul Hameed Sayyed (33),arrested in Pune’s Junglee Maharaj (JM) Road blasts case,regularly exchanged emails and chatted in code with fugitive Indian Mujahideen co-founder Riyaz Bhatkal and Fayyaz Kagzi and hatched a conspiracy,Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has said in its 3,587-page chargesheet filed last week.

Firoz alias Hamza Abdul Hameed Sayyed (33),arrested in Pune’s Junglee Maharaj (JM) Road blasts case,regularly exchanged emails and chatted in code with fugitive Indian Mujahideen co-founder Riyaz Bhatkal and Fayyaz Kagzi and hatched a conspiracy,Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has said in its 3,587-page chargesheet filed last week.

ATS said none of the emails that they could crack into had any incriminating details but the final report was based on the conversations that Sayyed and Bhatkal had in a year. These emails and chats were being probed into,said an officer.

According to ATS,the chats predominantly contained exchange of pleasantries.

The chargesheet has over 774 pages of snapshots from chats attached,where Sayyed,with user id ‘mark.tailor81@yahoo.com’ is believed to have interacted with a person with an email id: ‘hi.dudes86@yahoo.com’,allegedly belonging to Kagzi.

Villager ferrying firecrackers detained; no terror angle: ATS

The Latur police probing the low intensity blast in the state transport bus in Nalegaon have detained a villager who was allegedly ferrying firecrackers. The ATS,meanwhile,said leads on the ground did not suggest terror attack and the probe was still with the local police at Chakur Taluka.

Twelve people were injured,three of them critically,ini the blast in the MSRTC bus in Nalegaon.

The BDDS team till late night did not get any circuit or timer from the spot. Police are awaiting forensic examination report from Pune.

“We are questioning people and the probe is on,” Latur district SP B G Gaikar said.

Of the 12 injured,10 have been discharged from Latur Civil Hospital.
