5 held,cops in Patiala bust interstate burglars’ gang

With the arrest of arrest of five persons,including three women,the Patiala police on Monday claimed to have busted an interstate gang of burglars.

Those arrested included Madhya Pradesh residents Sikander alias Langda,Chandana Bai,Sonu and Madhu Bablu from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. Sikander is also wanted in a murder case registered in Jammu in 2006.

Patiala SSP Hardial Singh Mann said the gang was operating in Punjab,Jammu and Kashmir,Himachal Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

“During Preliminary interrogation,they revealed that the gang of five to seven members was divided into two groups — one headed by Sikander and the other by Mohar Singh,” he added.

All the accused belong to Paardi tribe,said police.
