1 militant killed as Army foils infiltration bid

One militant was killed as army troops foiled an infiltration bid from across the Line of Control (LoC) at Pir Badesar area in Poonch district on Thursday.

Pointing out that the militants were two in number and they appear to have sneaked into the Indian territory for disrupting the Budha Amarnath yatra beginning on Friday in Mandi area. One being challenged,the militants opened fire making the troops to retaliate.

One of them was killed,they said,adding that operation in the area was in progress. The identity of the slain militant was yet to be ascertained.
