Brushing aside allegations that his party was going soft on the Shadadha and Narada investigations, BJP Chief Amit Shah on Tuesday said that "BJP will never-ever go for match fixing with Mamata Didi's Trinamool Congress." Having come to Kolkata two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Kharagpur, Amit Shah mounted further pressure on Mamata Banerjee, challenging her to recommend a CBI probe in the Narada sting operation. “The whole world watched how TMC ministers and leaders took money in the Narada sting operation. The first thing Didi should have done was to throw out those leaders shown on camera taking bribes and initiate a probe. But that is not to happen. The Mamata Banerjee government sabotaged all investigations – Sharadha, the Burdwan blast and now the Narada,” he charged. Talking about allegations that the BJP government had taken a pro-active stand on initiating a CBI probe in Uttarakhand, Shah explained that the state governor had sent a CD to the central government recommending a CBI inquiry and the govt acted accordingly. “Let Mamata government do the same and BJP’s response would be the same, we always have to remember the federal structure we have,” he added. [related-post] The BJP national president refused to accept that the CBI had slowed down its investigation in the Sharadha case for the past one year. “It is not a romantic film that the speed of the episode will slow down some time and gain speed again. These all are media perceptions. In all the cases starting from Sharadha to Burdwan blast to Narada we have seen how Mamata didi government had interfered to stonewall, block and slow down investigations,” Shah said. “This Modibhai-Didibhai theories are all perceptions of the media and creation of the CPM to mislead the people. It is the TMC government which is slowing down the investigations. Amit Shah wondered why the media was asking the BJP about Narada issue not being taken up by the Ethics Committee of parliament. One should actually ask this question to the Congress and the CPM because the BJP which has a majority in Lok Sabha have already recommended it to the Ethics Committee but in Rajya Sabha it is the Opposition which has a majority and it was upto them to see that the Ethics Committee takes up the probe,” he said. Shah also cited more reasons why the BJP can not have any truck with the Trinamool Congress . He alleged that the TMC indulges in politics of appeasement and vote bank politics giving shelter to the infiltrators from Bangladesh. "On one hand TMC was busy setting up bomb making factories across the state and on the other it was promoting vote bank politics with the Bangladeshi infiltrators," he said. “The TMC patronage to the infiltrators has become a national security threat,” he added. Referring to the national citizenship assured to the Hindu migrants form Bangladesh, Amit Shah said that the BJP government was committed to the safety and security of the Hindu refugees who have migrated to Bengal because of 'religious persecution'. Once the BJP gains majority in Rajya Sabha, it will commit itself to bring the enactment for giving citizenship to the refugees, Shah added. “The party is putting up a real fight," he said and later at the sidelines of a media meet, Shah said that the BJP would take the tally of seats in the five states which are going to the polls to at least 150. As of now, the BJP had just three seats in these five seats combined,” he said.
