BJP’s Vijender Gupta
Leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta Tuesday alleged that the AAP government has misled people into believing that they have saved money of various projects because of its honesty. Gupta, while speaking in the house, said that AAP government managed to save money because steel and cement have become cheaper.
“Everyone knows that contractors are paid for the material as per prevailing prices. Steel and cement has become cheap because of the policies of Modi government. And that is the real reason for the difference between the cost of the project and that at which it has been completed,” said Gupta. He also alleged that AAP government has done away with many infrastructure-related features of the projects and thus the cost of the project was low.

“There were supposed to be footover bridges at some places and noise barriers on many flyovers to save cost and AAP projected as if they have been able to save money because of honesty. This is highly misleading,” said Gupta, following which chaos spread in the House with AAP MLAs gunning for him. Gupta demanded a written explanation on how the government saved money on projects.
He attacked the Delhi government and said the Lieutenant Governor’s address at the beginning of the budget session was a reflection on the government’s inefficiency and the hollowness of its promises.
Gupta pointed out that while Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia enhanced the budget for teachers’ training from Rs 9.4 crore to Rs 102 crore, posts of 20,000 teachers were lying vacant in schools in Delhi.
