Delhi to Kolkata container train: Indian Railways (IR) has launched the country’s first assured transit time container train service between Delhi and Kolkata. However, this train service has been introduced on a pilot basis. This special service is designed to ensure a guaranteed transit time of 120 hours or five days. With this, the national transporter has achieved another milestone in the logistics sector.

Delhi to Kolkata special container train: Route

The newly introduced Delhi to Kolkata special container train has commenced its operation on Wednesday, October 1. This dedicated train operates from ICD Tughlakabad Terminal (TICD), Delhi to CTCS K, olkata via Agra and Kanpur terminals of Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR). The dedicated train will follow the stream: TICD (Delhi) – ICDY (Agra) – ICDG (Kanpur) – CTKR/CTCS (Kolkata).

The new container train between Delhi and Kolkata will operate on a bi-weekly schedule, departing every Wednesday and Saturday.
