PM Narendra Modi arrived in Assam Friday during his two-day visit to the state and Arunachal Pradesh.
After his arrival at Tezpur, Modi travelled to Golaghat district in a chopper from where he participated in a 16-km-long roadshow to Kaziranga for an overnight stay.
He is scheduled to experience a safari there Saturday morning. Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 18,000 crore undertaken by Assam and the Centre.
Later Saturday, he is scheduled to inaugurate the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh – the world’s longest twin tunnels built at an altitude of over 13,000 feet – which is aimed at providing all-weather connectivity to the Tawang region.
There, he is also scheduled to launch the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialisation Scheme with a financial outlay of over Rs 10,000 crore.
