Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday announced that he has switched his official email service to Zoho Mail, a homegrown email platform. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shah shared his new email address and requested people to take note of the change for future correspondence. “Hello everyone, I have switched to Zoho Mail. Kindly note the change in my email address. My new email address is amitshah.bjp@zohomail.in. For future correspondence via mail, kindly use this address. Thank you for your kind attention to this matter,” Shah wrote in his post. The move to Zoho Mail, a Made in India software-as-a-service (SaaS) company headquartered in Chennai, is being seen as swadeshi push to switch to homegrown brands. While the Home Minister did not elaborate on the reasons for the switch, Zoho is used by several businesses. Hello everyone, I have switched to Zoho Mail. Kindly note the change in my email address. Shah concluded his post by saying ‘thank you for your kind attention to the matter’. Shah is the latest from the Union Cabinet to join Zoho Mail amid the government’s push for Swadeshi in the backdrop of US tariffs.
