A cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab has resulted in western disturbance over Pakistan and Punjab paired with high moisture from the Arabian Sea over northwest India which is causing rainfall and snowfall in the region.

Meanwhile, lowest minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius was reported at Churu (West Rajasthan) on February 20, and minimum temperatures are in the range of 11-14 degrees Celsius over most parts of northern plains. Hailstorm has been recorded at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan.
