Govt to set up five regional centres of Vedic education board

Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board (MSRVSSB) was set up on August 8, 2022, with Ujjain being the only centre of the Vedic Education Board.

The government will establish five new regional centres of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board (MSRVSSB), besides the primary centre in Ujjain, the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

“Apart from Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan in Ujjain, five sub-centres… are being started in Char Dham and Maa Kamakhya Devi Peeth in the north-east to promote Ved Vidya,” the minister said.

MSRVSSB was set up on August 8, 2022, with Ujjain being the only centre of the Vedic Education Board.

The minister also apprised the house of the number of students and teachers in the schools at present.

“There are 123 pathshalas across the country where 4,600 students are studying and these have 632 teachers. In 258 Guru Shishya Parampara Units, there are 2,240 students and 430 teachers,” Pradhan said.
