Vande Bharat train: The Ministry of Railways is working rapidly for the production of Vande Bharat trainsets across its manufacturing units. Since their inception in 2019, Vande Bharat Express trains have transformed rail connectivity in the country. This semi-high-speed train has significantly reduced travel time between two destinations. At present, over 150 Vande Bharat services are running across the network.

Besides the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Vande Bharat trainsets are also being manufactured at the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur and the Modern Coach Factory (MCF) in Uttar Pradesh.
At present, Vande Bharat trains operate in three configurations – 8, 16, and 20 coaches – all manufactured by ICF. Indian Railways (IR) is now gearing up to introduce a new 16-coach variant of the Vande Bharat Express, which will be manufactured in Uttar Pradesh.

16 coaches Vande Bharat train
The 16-coach Vande bharat trainset is under production at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to Indianexpress.com, a senior railway official has confirmed the development.
“First 16-coach Vande Bharat rake is currently under production at MCF. Each rake will comprise 16 coaches, and the first train is expected to be rolled out by November this year,” the official said.
The Vande Bharat Express can run up to a maximum speed of 160 kmph. The train offers passengers a faster, more comfortable, and premium travel experience.
