    Delhi, Bombay High Courts get bomb threats

    An investigation is underway into the bomb threats received by the Delhi and Bombay High courts on Friday. According to officials, the email sent to Delhi High Court at around 8.40 am said that the judges’ chamber will detonate after “midday prayers,” while the content of the threat mail to the Bombay HC has not been revealed. Investigators believe that the same person is behind both the threat emails. The same person is also suspected of sending similar threatening emails to Mumbai and the surrounding areas for the past few months. Read more

    CP Radhakrishnan takes oath as 15th Vice President of India

    President Droupadi Murmu on Friday administered the oath to Chandrapuram Ponnusami Radhakrishnan as the 15th Vice President of India. Former vice presidents Hamid Ansari, Venkaiah Naidu and Jagdeep Dhankhar attended the event at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Radhakrishnan was elected as the Vice President, following the sudden resignation of Dhankhar in July, citing health reasons. Read more

    SpiceJet wheel falls off on take-off from Kandla airport

    A full emergency was declared at the Mumbai airport on Friday after a SpiceJet flight from Kandla to the Maharashtra capital lost one of its wheels on take-off. An outer wheel of a SpiceJet Q400 aircraft operating from Kandla was found on the runway after take-off, and the flight landed safely at the Mumbai airport. Read more

    Indian-origin man beheaded at Dallas motel

    In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old Indian-origin man was killed at his workplace in front of his wife and teenage son by a co-worker after a dispute over a broken washing machine. The victim, Chandra Nagamallaiah, who hailed from Karnataka, was managing operations at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard in East Dallas, Texas. Nagamallaiah was killed by Cobos-Martinez, an illegal immigrant from Cuba, on Wednesday, September 10, after an argument broke out between the two over a broken washing machine. Martinez who stabbed Nagamallaiah several times, beheaded him, kicked his head into the parking lot, and placed it in a dumpster. Read more

    Gmail gets a new ‘Purchases’ tab to track all your online orders

    Google-owned email service Gmail has added a new feature, allowing users to track all their online purchases in one place. Gmail will now show all online purchases in a new “Purchases” tab. According to Google, the Purchases tab “brings all your purchase and delivery updates together in one place.
