Fortis Healthcare said it has entered into an agreement with the University of Utah for developing specialised courses in emergency medicine.
As per the memorandum of understanding,Fortis and Utah University will develop courses for emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and fellowship programmes for emergency physicians (EPs),Fortis Healthcare said in a statement.
“Structured training programmes with the University of Utah will help Fortis improve Pre-Hospital and Emergency care across our hospital network. The training will help us set protocols and provide world-class care in an emergency,” Fortis Healthcare CEO Bhavdeep Singh said.
EMTs have expertise in providing specialised Pre-hospital and Emergency care. Their role is vital while transporting a patient to the hospital.
“We feel that this partnership will help Fortis achieve a successful training program for emergency medicine providers and medical technicians,and improve the overall quality of medical care for the citizens of India,” University of Utah Chief,Division of Emergency Medicine,Erik D Barton said. Shares of Fortis Healthcare were today trading at Rs 149.25 on Bombay Stock Exchange in the late afternoon trade,up 1.77 per cent from its previous close.
