Bihar government on Tuesday decided to appoint 34,500 primary teachers across the state latest by August 31,this year. A decision to this regard was taken by the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Principal secretary cabinet and coordination department,Afzal Amanullah told reporters after the cabinet meeting that the state government also made certain amendments into appointment procedures to reserve five per cent of the total seats for physical teachers. Amanullah said if reserved seats were not filled by meant for them then the government would allow the seats to be filled up by the candidates belonging to general category. He said that the candidates having the degree issued latest January 23,2006 would be able to fill up the form for appointment of physical trainers. Earlier the cut off date for being eligible to become a physical trainer was December 9,2003,Amanullah said and added the state government was following the Supreme Court ruling issued on May 12,2010 regarding appointment of Primary teachers made necessary amendments in "Teachers Appointment Rules 2010" and issued a fresh order to recruit teachers under "Bihar Special Primary Teachers Appointment rules,2010," Amanullah said.
